Lago Maggiore, Italy

May 2011, Words in Play returns to Italy for a writing retreat in the magical setting of Lago Maggiore in northern Italy. Open the Mind

The focus of our workshops is on the creative process. You don’t need to be a writer to participate.

Through exercises in sensory perception, free writing, guided imagery and associative thinking, you will explore the layers beneath the surface to discover what it is you think and know; you will push the expanses of your imagination.

We promise you will be inspired; when you are open to inspiration, the ideas begin to flow. Sometimes we use art or nature to inspire us, sometimes group collaboration. For each person, it is different. Remember, you always have the option for solitude.

Play with Your Words

Above all else, we encourage play in our writing workshops. In play, there is no judgment, just pure experience. In the nurturing, safe environment of our retreats, where freedom and focus intermingle, we encourage you to explore and stretch and laugh and be silly. Wondrous moments erupt when we play.
